Brow Lift
Who is it for?
If you want a more youthful, smooth, and brighter appearance, a brow lift (also
known as a forehead lift) can help you achieve it. By lifting the brow area, the
procedure opens up your eyes, smooths wrinkles and furrows, and banishes sagging
skin. If you live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and you’re wondering if the brow lift
procedure is right for you, contact Dr. Nguyen’s Arlington office at (817) 468-7000.
How does it work?
Dr. Nguyen will recommend the best anesthesia choice—intravenous or general—
for you. After the administration of the anesthesia, Dr. Nguyen will perform the
brow lift procedure in one of three ways:
- Endoscopic: Dr. Nguyen will make multiple incisions behind your hairline and
use a tiny video camera on a tube called an endoscope to carefully reposition
your skin and tissue. Any excess will be removed.
- Non-endoscopic: Dr. Nguyen will make incisions at or behind your hairline
and/or near your temples and lift and tighten your skin, muscle, and tissue,
but without the use of an endoscope.
- Coronal: Dr. Nguyen will make an incision on your scalp from ear to ear, pull
your skin and tissue smooth, and close the incision. Because of the larger
incision used for a coronal brow lift, recovery time may be longer.
What happens after the procedure?
Your incisions will be closed with sutures, clips, tape, or adhesives that are
removable or that your body can absorb/dissolve. After your procedure, your
head may be taped or wrapped to reduce swelling and preserve your results. You
may also have small tubes inserted to drain excess fluids from the surgery site. Dr.
Nguyen will give you specific instructions on caring for yourself and your incisions
post-surgery.
You will likely experience some swelling and bruising after your procedure, but
you should be able to return to work within a few days. Complete healing of the
incisions will take several weeks. Scarring from the procedure should be minimally
visible, as the incisions are made behind the hairline.
